Alpha Youth Nights – A Journey of Questions, Connection & Faith
Tuesday nights at Street Peace have taken on a special rhythm with the launch of Alpha Youth Nights—a 10-week journey designed for young people who are searching for answers about life, faith, and the Bible.
Each week kicks off at 5:30 pm with a shared meal, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere where youth can feel at home. Over food, conversations flow naturally, and leaders have the opportunity to show love and model family. After dinner, the group watches a 20-minute Alpha video session before breaking into open discussions about what they’ve seen and heard.
The course is open to any youth connected to The Nest and covers topics such as:
- Finding happiness and living life to the full
- Who Jesus is
- What real love looks like
- Why a relationship with God matters
- Who the Holy Spirit is and how He works
- How God helps us overcome evil
- Does God heal today?
- What happens next in our faith journey
We are currently in Week 9—Does God Heal Today?—which sparked deep and honest conversations about physical and spiritual healing, healthy boundaries, and the reality that sometimes God’s healing happens gradually. The youth also explored how Street Peace leaders pray for them regularly, and how prayer works in the spiritual realm. This led naturally into a discussion about the enemy and God’s victory over darkness.
It has been incredible to witness the growth and respect the youth have shown towards the Street Peace leadership. Once trust is formed, the group stays consistent to protect that bond and create a safe, confidential space where young people can talk about anything and know they are loved and heard.
Four girls have been faithfully attending every week, while others have dropped in from time to time—whether for the full program, the food, or just to find warmth and connection. Each week brings new challenges, but also new opportunities for hope and transformation.
One of the standout moments so far was Holy Spirit Night. The room came alive as youth stepped out in faith—prophesying, sharing words of knowledge, and even writing scriptures on the whiteboard for each other. It was a powerful reminder that Jesus is at work in the lives of these young people, and that He meets them right where they are.
